In a New Year announcement posted to its community, Bandcamp stated that music or audio created wholly or substantially by generative AI is not permitted on the site, reaffirming its commitment to human-made music and real creative labor.
The policy also bans AI tools used to impersonate artists or mimic specific styles, aligning with existing rules around impersonation and IP abuse. Releases suspected of heavy AI use can be reported, and Bandcamp reserves the right to remove them outright.
