News from the Ooze: Boards of Canada drift back with Inferno

Boards of Canada don’t just return. They reappear like a signal breaking through static.

INFERNO.
18 tracks. Around 70 minutes.
Out May 29, 2026.

No slow rollout. Just fragments, VHS ghosts, cryptic drops and suddenly a full body of work materializing after thirteen years of silence. This is their first album since Tomorrow’s Harvest, and already it feels less like a comeback and more like a continuation of something that never really stopped breathing.

The format says everything. Double vinyl. CD. Digital. Physical presence still matters here. The long form still matters.

Listening events are already being set up across cities before release, like quiet rituals rather than promo moves.

No singles to hold your hand. No explanations. Just atmosphere, codes, and that familiar sense that you’re stepping into something slightly hidden, slightly off-grid.

Some bands drop albums.
Boards of Canada open portals.
